How do I find out what one I need to buy? ( I know I have to measure
the seat tube.)

The gear system says SIS SL-TY15-A and on the side of the bike it says
Shimano 15 Speed index. (The derailleur on the bike atm is not the
orginal one.)

I would perfer one with a screw so I don't have to break the chain -
can anyone recommend one?

thanks
Jimbob

Any mountain bike triple with under or dual-side cable entry and the right
diameter clamp should do. The one you've got is low-end Tourney, which is
the cheapest of the cheapest of the cheapest, so it's unlikely you'll find
an actual replacement for sale (those are mainly reserved for sale on
walmart bikes), but anything along the lines of Alivio or Acera should
work better than the thing ever did when new, and cost 10-20 bucks.
