If we're talking the energy expended by the rider, it may well be more efficient to instead earn the money to travel by car, bus, train or motorbike by working at a desk. (Example: to travel ten miles by car might cost £1 or £1.50 for the *fuel* consumed; or you could struggle, sweating and panting, for up to an hour by bike. Even at minimum wage it would only take you 15 minutes to earn the money for the diesel. With passengers in the car it's becomes even more worthwhile to drive.) -- Bartc |

Unless you want to carry passengers or goods, travel at more than 10mph, stay dry, warm, safe etc, avoid piles,infertility etc & don't mind arriving at your destination smelly & sweaty.
