The above music is interesting, but ultimately not satisfying. It is in the vein of Prokofiev and Shostakovich but without much inspiration. Theme and variations is one of my favorite musical forms, but it must satisfy emotionally as well as intellectually. I refer you to Brahms' "Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel" to know what I mean. [2] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uCC-venMtU&feature=fvst. So why is Mexico so ****ed up? I attribute it to their Spanish culture which must be some kind of primordial curse. Thank God America had an English based culture. The British culture was more enlightened than the Spanish post Renaissance to even today, where the shadow of the fascist murderer Franco is still present. -- Tom Sherman - 42.435731,-83.985007 ¡EL PUEBLO UNIDO JAMÁS SERÁ VENCIDO! |

The Beethoven and the Brahms are on the same level. I hardly ever bother with Post-Romantic music since all of it seems to eschew melody, an essential element in any music that I care to listen to. So why is Mexico so ****ed up? I attribute it to their Spanish culture which must be some kind of primordial curse. Thank God America had an English based culture. Spanish culture does not work out well no matter where it is applied. All of Central and South America is as ****ed up as Mexico.
