Default FS: Never ridden 55cm Serotta Colorado III frame and matching carbon fiber fork: $695

I recently purchased this built up but never ridden 2001 Serotta Colorado
III from a Serotta bike shop that was closing out their older model Serotta
frames. This is an absolutely gorgeous frameset! The Serotta paint looks wet
and the welds are some of the best I have ever seen. This is a wonderful
testament to the quality workmanship and aesthetic beauty Serotta puts into
their hand-built frames.

This never ridden and only built up 2001 model Serotta Colorado III frame
measures 55cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the
seat tube with a 55cm top tube. It is finished in the classic Serotta
competition red to competition yellow fade paint scheme with yellow decals
on the red down tube and seat tube. There is a matching yellow 1" threaded
carbon fiber fork. This bike will turn heads wherever you go...it is
stunningly beautiful!

The Colorado III uses Serotta's signature C4S steel tube set, which makes it
feel lighter and more responsive than bikes that actually weigh less. C45
Colorado 4th Dimension steel tubing is the most sophisticated steel tune set
made. All tubes are proprietary Serotta size-specific Colorado Concept. Main
tubes have tapered triple short butts for maximum mechanical advantage,
minimal weight, optimum rigidity, and compliance. Seat stays are
double-tapered for maximum strength, beauty, and traction control.

This Serotta Colorado III has Serotta's exclusive 3D XL dropouts and the
legendary Serotta Power "S" bend chain stays. This Serotta has the new
Serotta Head On cable guides, which are light and easy to adjust. Large
sculpted pockets on the barrel adjusters give you a better grip, making for
easy "on the fly" shifting adjustments if necessary.

There are two sets of water bottle bosses, a pump peg, the rear brake cable
is routed at 7 o'clock on the top tube, and it takes a clamp-on front
derailleur. The head tube is 155mm in length, which includes a 15mm extended
top of the head tube for better fit and adjustability. It also will enable
you to raise your handlebars if you decide to go to a threadless fork in the
future. The steel steerer on the 1" threaded carbon fiber fork is 210mm in
length and the rear dropout spacing is 130mm.

The fork has a few places on the fork crown where it looks like the paint
was scratched off when the headset's crown race was removed. Looks like a
tool other than a crown race puller was used from the slight marks on the
surface. The seller to me indicated the scratches are cosmetic in nature,
not structurally significant. Ask me for pictures (I have 3 of them) of the
fork crown so that you can see them for yourself.

The cable adjusters are on the headtube, not on the downtube, so this would
be better built with Campy Ergo or Shimano STI components rather than
downtube shifters. The frame and fork have been completely treated inside
the tubes with JP Weigle Frame Saver and Boeshield T-9 rust prevention
spray.

Other than the fork scratches, you would be hard pressed to tell the
difference between this frame and a brand new one. The price on the 2001
model Colorado III frame alone was $1,495, and that didn't include a fork.
You can buy this near-new Colorado III for $695, and that includes the
matching carbon fiber fork and professional packing (all tubes covered with
pipe insulation, dropout protection, bike box) and insured shipping within
the lower 48 states.

Many pictures available on request.
