A cyclist assaulted a motorist in a road rage attack in Cambridge.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the daylight incident which
happened at traffic lights in Milton Road.

The 30-year-old victim was driving along the road when he stopped at the
lights at the Cowley Road junction when an altercation occurred between him
and a cyclist, during which the victim was hit in the face, suffering minor
injuries.

The cyclist is a white man, described as between 30 and 40, six foot, slim
with short blond or ginger hair. He was wearing a beige jacket, a black and
red rucksack and was riding a black mountain bike.

The cyclist was with another person at the time of the assault which
occurred at about 3.20pm on Thursday last week.

Det Con Katie Maruzzi, investigating, said: "This incident happened during a
busy part of the day and I would urge anyone who witnessed it to contact me.

"The cyclist was cycling with another person at the time of the altercation
and I would urge them to get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact Det Con Maruzzi on 101 or
Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

So "cyclist defends himself in altercation with road rage motorist"
then.

If that were the case, he'd have no difficulty in contacting the police and
explaining it to them.

Or not, as the case may be.

Yes, obviously someone sitting down in a car is going to be able to throw
a vicious punch to someone 3 foot above on a bike arn't they.

As it is, the cowardly cyclist did a runner and hasn't been in touch with
the police. What does that tell you?

Why should he bother? Why involve the government? Knock for knock. He
doesn't owe the motorist anything.
