Seems that the Astana bean counters could readily embrace the addition
of LA.
Regardless of race results, Armstrong undoubtedly raises the
visibility of Astana, which is the whole reason for sponsoring a team
in the first place. And Armstromg rides for free.

Then suppose Contador does bail out. That means somebody buys out his
remaining contract (what do you suppose that will cost?). That's a
bonus onto the Astana bottom line and also means that Astana no longer
has the expense of AC's salary (anyone know what it is?). More $ on
the bottom line.

So does anyone actually travel to Astana? What for?
Illes Balears it ain't.

One advantage of that would be that Levi would be the leader in two of the
three grand tours.

I think Lance is there to enjoy the racing; although he will try, if
he finds himself physically lacking he will be there to help someone
else to win. He'll be happy to take the role sean yates or ekimov did
for him for another WORTHY rider

You're so right. Except, without AC being the leader, where would
Levi be?

DirtRoadie,

$$$ doesn't matter, Contador is gone. He should go to Columbia.

Then the have do work out what to do with Mark Cavendish.
Very difficult to win a grand tour while delivering your
sprinter to the line.

No one with a legitimate GC threat cares about the sprints.
Cavendish would hit the scrap heap.

Well noone but Telekom, and how'd that work out? Pretty good for Zabel
for years. Actuallty they were pretty smart to split their efforts
because Jan wasn't going to beat Lance on any kind of regular basis.
Like Keith said Lance is a killer, Jan wasn't.

Like when he said he would help Heras win the Vuelta to repay him for
his help in the TDF.- Hide quoted text -
