Carbon Assembly Paste on Threads?
I am wondering if anyone has experience putting carbon assembly paste on
threaded parts such as a bottom bracket? I cannot find the instructions that came with mine (not that I recall them being too great). I have used grease, teflon tape, and (rarely) loctite on BB threads. But I get slipping in the BB more often than I think I should. I think I am putting plenty of muscle when installing and I generally want to avoid loctite (I use blue on the fixed cup for italian and french threads). So I am wondering if the carbon assembly paste might be worth a try. Any comments? Thanks |

BTW, we just had to cut a BB cup outta a Bianchi that was loctited in. |

The paint will still be OK but the loctite breaks down. -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org/ Open every day since 1 April, 1971 ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com ** |
