Default EPS -Ebbets Pass every Sunday- EPS

Last weekend 5/13/2006, Hwy 4 East of Ebbets Pass was dry and closed.
There were happy bicyclists, walkers and even joggers! It would be nice
to have it like this more often.

I would like to propose closing Hwy4, Sundays from 7am to noon, between
Wolf Creek and Westward to Bear Valley. This route is 28 miles over
Ebbets Pass. This is the second pass of the Death Ride.

The benefits for bicycling are obvious. I believe it would create local
commercial interests for housing and food in that it would draw more
tourism. It would be important to have the event on a regular
predictable interval. The increased incomes may help donations for the
costs of closing.

The people to contact would be to Alpine County and the State Hwy.
Dept. How and who should do it?
