I would still like to know if it comes with the proper parts.

Fact is, this Conundrum was built as an integral unit, with unique frame
dimensions to fit a specific Surly rim (26" Large Marge) to house a
specific Surly tire (Endomorph), specifically for use in loam and snow.
To slap on a 24" KH wheelset and call this thing a "Freeride" machine
is like putting Indy tires on a Hummer and calling it a race car.

I run a Large Marge on my KH 24 and have to use brake adapters to use a
Magura because the brake mounts are otherwise too narrow for he LM rim.
As is, the mounts on the Surly frame are probably too wide to house a
Magura on the much narrower KH rim, but I don't know.

Simply put, the parts on a Surly/KH hybrid rig are mismatched, losing
the advantages of both basic models. The result is indeed a functional
Muni, but one that is heavier and more expensive than need be. If you
want an indestructable steel frame, buy a Hunter and run Profiles.

Sounds like this particular unicycle is destined to generate more
discussion than orders. Yes, seems silly to buy that frame
without the rim and tire it was made for, but if the tire doesn't exist
and you want to be ready, this may be one way of getting one. As
always, if you don't like it or think it's too expensive, don't buy
one.

Has anyone actually asked UDC about any of this (other than
uniredneck)?

In the spirit of curiosity, I mailed UDC (as John Foss suggested).
Here's the reply:

Mark,
Thanks for your question! We did make a typo on the product
description
page. The Large Marge rim IS what comes on the cycle, NOT the KH rim.
I
see that there has been a lot of discussion in regards to the cycle,
especially when it comes to its pricing. The price is what it is. We
make
VERY little profit on this cycle.

Also, you can't beat a lifetime warranty on your hub and cranks
(Profile).
The Large Marge rim is the biggest rim that fits on it, and gives you
the
option for the Endomorph tire when it comes out...also, you're getting
SNAFU
pedals, Rox SuperDutE rim strip (which is a much more reliable/durable
rim
strip--and more expensive), two different sets of seatpost shims to
adjust
from a 27.2 or 22.2 seatpost, a KH saddle(your choice of street,
Freeride,
or an Air saddle for an upgrade), the Surly frame, a Kalloy seatpost,
Surly
Constrictor Seatpost clamp, a handbuilt wheel from Kovachi (which is
part of
our labor cost), the option for a Magura steelbraided brake, and if
you
google 4130 CroMoly I think most will understand why the frame is
costly...it's not just the name, here. We also pay shipping on the
frame/rim/parts, and seeing as we do not buy these in bulk, our cost
for the
cycle ends up being more than what it would be if we did buy in mass
quantity.

I hope this helped in answer your (and everyone on the forum)
questions. If
not, let us know. Hope you're doing well, Mark. Happy cycling!

In summary: it does have the LM rim, the mention of the KH was a typo.
This does seem to be the 24" version of the conundrum, so there's not a
24" endomorph for it yet, but it'll be ready to accept one when they
become available.

All it took was one mail, and they responded within a working day -
nice on UDC

Cheers,
Mark

Dave: Just a question. What use is a unicyle with no seat? And no
pedals!
Mark: To answer a question with a question: What use is a skateboard?
Dave: Skateboards have wheels.
Mark: My wheel has a wheel!

Knowing that it comes with the large marge and profiles changes things a
bit. If you were to buy all the parts and build this uni yourself, you
would only save maybe $100.

Personally, I'd insist on the KH moment crankset (should drop the price
about $100), but other than that, this is a pretty sweet ride.
