I've got a pair of pretty red deep-v's on the KoD uber commuter. Sure do make a bike look prettier and go faster. True! -- cfsmtb |

For what it's worth, just about every LBS in Melb can get them, Bob Farleigh is the local distributor. |

I bought my Deep Vs from Abbotsford cycles and got a pretty good deal on them. I have been riding them for a while now on the fixie and they are still true. I was at the BMC a couple of weeks ago - what a great day it was weather wise and to top it off I managed to get through the 100km without any flats or mechanicals!!! The tracks were great and I was having a wow of a time up until about the 80km mark when I started to cramp pretty severely in the inner thigh (adductors??), quads, hammies, and calves!!! By 90km I just wanted it all to end and that last rest stop seemed to take forever to get to. I ended up with a time of 7h22m although my computer showed 6h35m of actual riding time......the rest of the time was either refuelling at one of the rest stations or stopping for a stretch (I did this about 4 or 5 times in the last 20km or so!!!). It was a fantastic course and I reckon that by next year I will have forgotten the pain and might sign up for another crack at it. I might even try and do some preparation next time around as prior to this ride I can't remember the last time I did more than ride to or from work in one go and that is only 15 to 20km each way depending on which way I go!! What time did you end up getting Dej?? Gags |

there's also DT RR 1.2s, which I keep pimping They're virtually identical to Deep Vs, but they're joined better and they look better Pretty much any shop can get them, coz they're distributed by Dirtworks. Without 'knowing' the bike shop, they'll cost about $120 per rim, so obviously a bit less if you're chummy with your local shop [image: http://vmartin.bigpondhosting.com/photos/bmc_rear.jpg] -- 531Aussie |

What time did you end up getting Dej?? Gags Gday ahh you did much better than me my time was 8hr13 or something I had no flats, but managed to separate some links in my chain at about the 50-60km mark which meant it would skip in the bigger gears ended up riding the last 40kms in the middle ring and the 20t rear i too experienced the cramps hammies, quads all at the same time, kinda makes it difficult to decide which one to stretch first i think by next time i'll try organise a dually. the 1st 40kms or so was good on the hardtail but by the end of it, it was pretty tiring having to stand up over the bumpy sections i still cant believe the winning time was 4hr 20 or something given some of the sections and the climbs thanks for the tip on abbotsford, they tell me they'll be in today so i'll try organise the rims. will post some pics of the fixed once its all built up. it's an older colnago master frame/fork, it'll have deep v's and kazane track hubs/ cranks. i'd like to get my hands on some gold campag cranks but i rekon the wifey would boot me out if i spent the cash on those |
