It may not be in the highway code, but it will be.

You missed all the other things mentioned.
All of which seem good advice for all road users.

I await both the motorists & cyclists who will argue.

"Information from the leaflet 'Drive Safe Cycle Safe' published by the
Department of Transport in association with the Automobile Association
and the Cyclists' Touring Club 1994This information aims to make
motorists and cyclists more aware of one another, and to counter the
intolerance that can develop between them - in short, to establish a
climate of mutual courtesy and care." Apparently.

Seems a pretty balanced set of viewpoints, and also seems to be written
by both cyclists and motorists for mutual benefits.

For a change, stuff like this is normally (it seems) pretty polarised
depending on who writes it ..

Good stuff!

That page might be a good response to a number of posts made on this group.

It doesn't mention carrying a half brick to lob through the window of cars
where the motorist pulls out on you as if you don't exist.

I can't see any evidence that this is intended to be part of a revised
HC. Did you read that somewhere?. It certainly *should* go in.

Excellent. Maybe now new and inexperienced cyclists who might have had
doubts raised in their minds (by certain posters who probably never
cycle!) about cycling in primary position when it increases their
safety will see that this is indeed recommended by the DfT and is a
really really sensible thing to do.

Shame it's so long until the next HC is expected, but it does at least
finally nail down the coffin lid on any lack of DfT endorsement of
primary position.

Anchor Lee talks his usual ********.

Does it actually mention the "primary position" - NO

Can this be interpreted as an "endorsement" of the "primary position -
NO.

Is the object of the page to show road users what sort of actions
other road users would appreciate.- YES

Is any of the information contentious - NO (as far as I'm concerned)

Does the "primary position" as advocated by people here sometimes
cause the blocking of the carriageway to other road users? - YES

Should this be done - NO

PS This is not new information at all - I am surprised that the
anti-motoring brigade here have not found it sooner - it's been
available for years. Perhaps they don't read DfT documents.

"Primary position" the middle of a traffic lane. To take the "primary position" : to ride a bike in the middle of the lane in order to obstruct other road vehicles from overtaking.

A term invented by and used by psycholists and not recognised in the Highway Code.
