Man injured at Ludlow biking event

9:47am Monday 26th August 2013 in News By Mark Bowen

A MAN who fell from his mountain bike in south Shropshire avoided being knocked unconscious by his helmet.
He fell from his bike at a mountain biking event off Lower Wood Road, Ludlow, to where West Midlands Ambulance Service was called shortly after 4pm on Saturday (August 24).
An advanced community paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire attended.
Chris Kowalik, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “The event’s on-site medical team had already immobilised the man who is in his thirties.
"He was said to have fallen from his bike while going downhill at speed. He hit his head and his helmet was badly damaged, cracked in three places, but he hadn’t been knocked unconscious.
"Although wearing helmets would have been compulsory at an organised event, an incident such as it shows why it is important for all cyclists to wear them.
“He did have lower back pain and, in addition to having been immobilised, he was given pain relief by the land and air ambulance crews and was flown to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

Your desire to sweep these accidents under the rug, and keep them a secret, is duly noted. How dishonest!

You would know a lot about dishonesty wouldn't you criminal. Do you have any plans on using your phd in prison when you **** up again Mike? I am sure the jailbirds will be very interested to read your literature review. It would make a great change from playboy.

Still grasping at straws? You already know that I am not a criminal. But mountain bikers all are. Every one of them rides illegally and/or builds illegal trails.

Nope, unfortunately true. Mountain biking has been an outlaw culture from day one, and has never changed.

Outlaw culture my ass. You would know a lot about being an outlaw wouldn't you Vandeman. You are a convicted felon. What makes me laugh is that you claim that are charges were dropped but you provide no evidence for it and expect us to believe it. Great entertainment old chum. Have you considered a career in Hollywood?

Nothing but lies -- quite appropriate, for an outlaw culture....
