Default Sea change?

Last year the chances of seeing an article about the UCI in the
mainstream UK press were pretty slim. Outside of cycling nobody in the
UK would have had the faintest idea who Phatty McQuaid is. The
combination of this year's massive British cycling success and the
Armstrong takedown have raised interest in cycling to an unprecedented
level here. Can McQuaid and Verwanken survive given the amount of
exposure their misdeeds in defense of Gunderson are now getting or will
they get the same treatment as the Texas Bully? My guess is that they
are toast.

Davey will give you 7 to 3 against.

In recent years Davey has twice exhaustively propounded in this
and other newsgroups/forae the procedure for removing them and
analyzed what he thought would be the outcome of the voting on
such a resolution.

Davey believes it can't be done (Look particularly at the voting
blocks composition.)

Check it out for yourself and draw your own inferences.

it is sad that these people survive. generally in cases like this
where so many misdeeds occurred on their watch the leaders are forced
to leave regardless of their culpability. In this case it is hard to
believe that the UCI had no idea what was going on.

How can the your fired if you confess attitude do anything but enforce
the "code of Silence".
It seems professional cycling is run by egomaniac fools who like
things the way they are.

I reckon the odds are down to 50/50 because of the enormous political pressure coming from outside of mainstream cycling, look at the way Phatty has postponed his legal action against Kimmage, I reckon he knows he's got his back to the wall now. Nice use of 'forae', probably hasn't been used in England since the Italians pulled out in ad400 or whenever it was. :-)
