Manufactures did alot of strange things in the 80's as far as bike
parts go. Lots of designs with know real value. Shimano & Campy both had their moments. Shimano eventually got their act together with the stuff we see today. Campy just copied Shimano. Not a bad idea on Campys part. |

There was a Dura-Ace EX version also. The Dyna-Drive "concept" also included 600-level parts and the original Deore group. The sainted Sheldon has scans of the Shimano dealer catalog from the era: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/shimano1982/pages/15.html http://www.sheldonbrown.com/shimano1982/pages/18.html http://www.sheldonbrown.com/shimano1982/pages/27.html I had a Deore crank back then. The pedals in particular were marvelously supportive of my fat feet. Jeff |
