Manufactures did alot of strange things in the 80's as far as bike
parts go. Lots of designs with know real value. Shimano & Campy both
had their moments. Shimano eventually got their act together with the
stuff we see today. Campy just copied Shimano. Not a bad idea on Campys
part.

Not exactly. There was a Dura-Ace EX version also. The Dyna-Drive
"concept" also included 600-level parts and the original Deore group.

The sainted Sheldon has scans of the Shimano dealer catalog from the

I had a Deore crank back then. The pedals in particular were
marvelously supportive of my fat feet.
