Default Lance and the 31st birthday "rule"

Don't think I ever saw that mentioned anywhere, but I"ve noticed that
no multiple TdF winner won after celebrating his 31st birthday.
Merckx - Last victory 1974 - Last tour 197731
Hinault - Last Victory 1985 - Last tour 198631
Lemond - Last Victory 1990 - Last tour 199331
etc...
He's broken all the other TdF rule, I hope he doesn't break that one,
we'll leave that to Ullrch in 2005 for his 4th win ;-)
