Default Bottom Bracket Spacer question

Hi,

I recently removed a Raceface Evolve bottom bracket. On removing the it I
noticed a 2.5mm spacer resting against the flange of the drive side cup.
This was supplied with the evolve as the instructions advise to use it with
a 68 mm bb. - (which mine is). My question is - should i continue to use
this with another 68 mm bb? (i just bought the fsa platinum pro 68mm which
does not mention anything about spacers). i guess this somehow affects
chain alignment..
Also, when i meausre the frame bb width it appears to be around 67cm
width?!

Any thoughts appreciated

Think about this. 73mm-68mm= 5mm. 1/2 of that is 2.5mm.
So the RF BB is used without spacer on 73mm BB shells and with the spacer on
68mm ones.

The FSA BB, being designed specifically for 68mm shells, doesn't need any
spacers.
