Why bibs and not shorts?

I like bibs better because they don't have any elastic around the waste.

THAT'S REALLY HELPFUL, AS I HAD NARROWED IT DOWN TO THE ASSOS AND EVEN
THOUGH I WEAR A LARGE IN CANNONDALE, I ORDERED A MEDIUM IN ASSOS.

ACTUALLY
I ORDERD THE 'SERIES' THAT IS DESIGNED BY ASSOS BUT MADE IN HUNGARY, HAS

THE
EXACT SAME PAD, SAME COLOR, ETC. FOR A LOT LESS MONEY.

IF THESE DON'T WORK OUT, I'LL TAKE YOUR ADVICE.

TOM

With bibs, they cover my lower back and I don't worry about the jersey
riding up. Also, when I put on a few pounds, shorts roll down over
the waist. I started riding bibs 10 years ago or so and really liked
them.

I like bibs, because the elastic in plain shorts has trouble *finding* my
waist.

Didn't really know where to best post this question; but, my wife and I have

but, we were never comfortable with the bottom padding on long rides. We
ride on rural highways primarily for long distance rides. Any
recommendations for a good pair of shorts with decent padding?

Thanks

Tom

I like Sugoi. They have great padding and are about 75$.

Why bibs and not shorts?

Because you can stand up & sit down without the shorts moving around on you.
They simply seem to stay in place a whole lot better, at least for me.

Haven't you guys heard of braces (suspenders) for your trews?

I like the DeMarchi Contour bibs (about $130). It has an elastic chamois,
and the fabric used for the rest of the short is super-light. Every review
I've read about them say they're as comfortable as short twice their price
(read that as Assos but I've never tried them). I wear my other bibs
(various brands) for shorter rides and save these for the long ones.
