*gerble, in an earlier thread (pretty old) ryan said a prehop can add
10-15cm when you are jumping almost 30 inches without the prehop,
which is where i came up with that number.

today's practice was not too succesful. i was hitting the 69 pretty
much every time, and a 71 about 1/2 and the 73 about 1/4. i couldnt
land the 75 again, mostly because i sliced a huge chunk out of my
right ankle and i hurt the arch on my left foot trying to land a high
rolling hop (for me) with only room for 1 pedal rotation. it hurt. *

You gotta be good at prehopping, though. I used to have a great prehop,
but now it's really small, and doesn't raise my hopping height by more
than 2". I'm just as consistent with or without a prehop at 64cm. I
don't think using a prehop will put you at 3' very quickly. As for
foreseen progress, barring any injuries, I expect to be at about 30"
within 3-4weeks. Then I'm gonna break off the heavy hopping practice,
and focous on stuff like 2' onto an 8" diameter pole. I find an
inprecise 30" hop to be decisively useless. An accurate 2' hop without a
prehop is priceless. I'm now focusing on the accuracy at least as much
as I focus on height.

precision definitely is the best skill to have, and i think that if you
can jump 30 inches, you will invariably get much more preise with your
20 inch hop. im not planning on using a 30 inch hop much, but by making
my 27-28 inch hop more consistant i will be able to complete more lines.

Recently I've been getting more consistant with my 100cm hops (no
prehop) and I'm not real confident with a prehop...any advice.

Allright So i can really do 100 cm. I can just about get 22''. Sorry
for the lie but I wanted a small confidence boost. Anyway, anyone have
any tips for me when it comes to adding a prehop in. I don't use one
now...Is it better, even if your only goin 20 or so inches. I cant get
the four pallets i have and I'd really like to.

WOW, how much pressure do you run, as opposed to how much you weigh?

is this question meant for me? if so, im not sure of the exact
pressure, but its probably 15-20 pumps of my mini-pump above the point
where i cannot bottom out just by pushing down and compressing the tire
with a hard kick while standing on the uni. i know thats not helpful at
all, but i have done 28"ers with tire pressures varying about 10 pumps
from eachother, so exact tire pressure is not that important (i think).
i weigh 150 lbs.

I see...I have my tire pressure set so when I compress the tire on the
pre-hop, I -almost- bottom out, the pressure is pretty low. But that is
only for the high jumps.
