A Non-friction bicycle lights generator (dynamo)
In this new generation bicycle light system, no battery is needed, no
friction on any parts of the bicycle. The lights flash regardless speed of the bicycle and weather conditions (unlike normal dynamos!). Very bright. It can be used as a stand-alone light system (as a normal dynamo) on your bike, or used as a back-up for your existed battery-powered lights All details and buy on-line: http://www.freelights.co.uk |

Just because there's no friction doesn't mean there's no resistance. In this case, it's electromechanical forces generated by that open dynamo they manufacture and have spammed for on this group before. It *is* essentially a dynamo with the magnet spokemounted instead of spinning inside the coils through a mechanical linkage. The asking price for the stuff is quite reasonable. If you mount more than one of their magnets on your spokes you might get a bit more effective power. Wouldn't want to use a cadence or rear speed sensor though. Jasper |

The spoke magnet flips another magnet inside the generator, making a current pulse. This flipping action is what makes the thing work even at low speed, when you wouldn't get anything out of a spoke magnet. It's actually pretty clever, especially compared to most spam topics. -- Ray Heindl (remove the Xs to reply) |
