And I'd add, WOW!

I haven't peeked in on this group in well over a year (might even be
two or more) and it's worse than ever, if that's possible.

And, I see, Ed Dolan is still around, monopolizing the board.

That's why I like BROL -- it's a recumbent cycling board about, well,
RECUMBENT CYCLING.

And moderators telling you what you can and can not post, locking
threads, deleting posts, etc.

Tom, BROL is not for you and me, but I think it is the way to go for most.
ARBR is not much anymore for a variety of reasons. All groups need a
moderator (an editor) who will take charge and determine who gets to say
what. I would know how to do be a moderator myself easily since I am a
tyrant at heart.

You could post to BROL with little or no difficulty and not have to change a
thing about how you say anything. I of course would have to change
everything about myself. I could do this, but all the fun would go out of it
for me. I enjoy saying outrageous things and seeing who is going to pick up
on what I say. BROL is for dullards who never tire of going over the same
old material. Kind of like the helmet wars that way I imagine.

Yes Tom,but for those interested in recumbents there are more posts
there than here. Here it tends to be mostly trolls and the war of the
words, rather than recumbent info.

Other Usenet groups survive the occasional flame war and trolls just
fine.

Are all the people posting to the BROL message boards that used to post
to alt.rec.bicycles.recumbent afraid of or incapable of dealing with
the Troll of Worthington?

Well I guess that is because many of them post through Google, which has
no filter. Of course they could just use the best adaptive filter ever
created, the human mind. I use a separate news feed and client, which
has filters so I use them.

It was not the "Troll of Worthington" which killed ARBR, but the criminal
vandal troll of Chicagoland, Ed Gin.

But I say let those who have fled to BROL stay there and never return to
ARBR. They were not worthy of the give and take of a free forum.

Still, why not use your own mind to filter? ARBR is not so overrun with
posts that you could not easily do it - unless of course there is something
wrong with the way your mind works.

The bottom line to all filtering of course is that such types as Ken do not
like to be confronted with contentious messages which stir them. Nay, they
would rather remain half-dead like the zombies they are.

However, the main thing that I have against Ken and types like him is that
he is constantly advising others to filter or not to respond - as if they do
not have minds of their own and cannot decide these matters for themselves.
