TIA Jim James: I know of no carbon seatpost manufacturer that recommends greasing carbon seatposts. Back in the day we thought it was because the grease might contain something hostile to carbon (actually, to the epoxy matrix it's embedded in), but the best reason not to use grease is that it will increase the amount of clamping force needed to secure the post, and *that* is most definitely hostile to carbon. --Mike Jacoubowsky Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReaction.com IMBA, BikesBelong, NBDA member |

NOOO! I did that. It took a big husky kid at the LBS to get that out. It
turns into glue, don't ask my how. |
