people treated each other as equals. A full
professor led our weekly class of 15 where

I did have a philosophy prof who was a real snot-- the point being,
some are enablers, some guard the castle to keep the "unworthy" out.
The "guards" I came into contact with were mostly in the math dept.
I'm happy for you if your experience was different. Who needs that
crap?

People enroll in a university knowing full well
that the curriculum includes mathematics. The
student has entered into a contract: to do his
best to master the curriculum. The student is
not the judge of what is relevant and what is
not; he is honor bound to complete what he
entered into, or be marked a failure.

It is possible to get through life and never know one damn thing about
mathematics. In fact, I highly recommend it. After all, numbers are a human
invention and do not exist in nature. Jeez, how did the universe ever come
into being without a mathematics professor calculating it.

Well, that's not what every single Western philosopher from the
Pythagoreans to Kant will argue. They'd say that math existed all
along. Humans only discovered it rather than invent it. I doubt that
many would argue that humans created math.

There are no words or thoughts in nature either. As far as we humans are
concerned, it is ALL mind over matter. But nature has no mind at all. The
