Default Glenvale D or E grade?

Okay I've made my decision and this weekend I will attempt my first
crit. My aim here is to enjoy myself (within reason), and if I get
dropped wihtin the first 10 mins that would not be considered enjoying
myself. Now I see that Glenvale goes down to E grade although there are
only a handful in it. So I'm wondering whether I should go E grade or D
grade (which has a lot more riders to hide behind). Dutch/Jazmo what are
your thoughts seeing you've got an idea of what level I'm at?

One other thing, according to the website it says $20 for a day license.
Is that all it costs or is it the day license plus an entry fee?

The latter, so you'd be up for $30.

How fast are you compared to the Dutchy of, say, 3 months ago?

Could sit on his wheel as long as he was at the front doing the work and
not also wheel sucking. Although not sure about how I'd go for 55min plus 3.

Well look, if it's your first one, it wont hurt to enter E grade and get
some pointers. I think they are shepparded around for the first half of
the race by a more experienced rider? Perhaps rock up on the day, tell
them you're a virgin and see what they say?

Cant give you any advice other than to chase down anything that moves.. even
in the first 10 mins

Looks like you'll have a full squad of BRers there looking on.. speaking of
which, anyone know a good route to this place from our Donny start that will
get us there at about 8:30ish?? I might do some research and bring a map..

Well, it's the most dangerous road in Melbourne for cars, statistically,
but if you're okay in traffic it's no bother. I ride it a fair bit and
probably see less fools there than on Whitehorse Rd.
People probably get freaked coz it's 70kph, 80kph a fair bit??
