Default Tour of Flanders by Eurostar

Hi

Has anyone here used the Eurostar to get over to ride the Tour of
Flanders cyclosportif? Catching the train would probably be cheaper for
us than hiring a car to drive over but the added hassle (bike on
Eurostar, having to ride to the hotel, leaving luggage somewhere on
Sunday while we watch the pro race) might cancel that out.

I'm also after cheap accomodation recommendations; I see there are 3
Hotel Formule 1's in Brussels which would suit us down to the ground but
the start and finish of the 140km event is 25km away in Ninove (though
there are regular trains).

Hot tips will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Mark

We did the 140km last year and stayed in Ninove. There are cheap hotels
there and it's a lot easy than trying to travel in on the day IMO

If you have a Eurostar ticket to Brussels, I think you an use it on the
local trains as well. I'm not sure how it works (e.g. if you can use
it on a day you're not using Eurostar) and can't find the web page to
direct you to. Could save some hassle and a few bob though.
