Three cyclists knocked off bikes in Lurgan as 76-year-old man is arrested
Culprit has been arrested.
QUOTE: Police in Lurgan are appealing for information and witnesses following a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist on the Ballynamoney Road, on Tuesday, October 13. At approximately 6.55pm as three cyclists were at Silverwood roundabout a dark coloured SUV type car is reported to have struck the lead cyclist who fell off their bicycle, causing two other cyclists to fall off their bikes also. A 76-year-old man was later arrested. He has since been released on bail. Much like the "cash for crash" fiddle where a car driver will go in front of a car, slam on the brakes and cause the victim to collide with them. Dangerous driving. |

That sort of case is very obviously deliberate and moves straight into the plain criminal, with its implied conspiracy to defraud). The vast majority of traffic accidents are not caused deliberately (ie, not with the collision as a desired outcome, even if the result of carelessness or recklessness). |
