Spinning: distance travelled in a spin class?

Hi. Apart from "you don't travel anywhere" har har - how far does one
travel, on average, in a 45 minute spinning class?

Depends on the gear you're using. So I'd say find a comparable gear on
your own bike, determine the ratio and gear inches, then multiply that
by your cadence (revs per minute) and then multiply THAT by forty five.
Heck, I like this answer so much, I'll even make an equation:

Distance = g x c x t

Where "D" = distance travelled.
"g" = gear inches
"c" = cadence
"t" = time (in minutes)

This may not be 100% accurate. I think Sheldon Brown has something like
this on his site. And your crank length might have something to do with
it, also...

Also, there may be a btter way. Like looking at the digital display
that some bikes have.
