Weird. I saw basically none of those.

Me either. I think the thread title is disrespectful to Sheldon.

I didn't check the Earthstink feed; that company's support for
Usenet boils down to "why bother, nobody uses it anyway." They've
failed to update their servers for weeks at a time more than once.
When I griped at their tech support about one such incident a while
back, the droid did not even know what Usenet was, and could not grasp
the idea that it involved a server under Earthlink's control which was
not fetching any feeds.

I had the same experience with Earthlink support. They had no idea what
Usenet was, or what I was talking about when I told them that their
servers had not been updated for more than a week. I gave up and changed
ISPs.

I know, but felt it needed to be said and associated with the thread.

I'm an infrequent poster and access r.b.t through Google Groups. *I
would guess that over half the postings of the last few weeks are
sales spam. * Quite annoying. *Hard to believe that marketing
technique results in any sales. *I would also think it leaves the
spammers open to hacking by revenge-minded individuals.

it's not just rbt, it's a lot of groups.

I still fail to see why anyone would *want* a fake watch; it's not
like the watch you wear is likely to impress anyone anyway. And
anyone that shallow should just DIAF anyway.

(wearing a watch that's significantly older than I am right now,
because I like it. Nobody's noticed yet, and it's almost 4 PM.)

What? Off-topic and irrelevant posts on RBR? Send in the Marines!

Can't. *They're busy. *All we got is clowns.

Don't bother - they're here.

Changing the title does not change the threading.

I understand. I'm on Thunderbird and one of the options is to view only
unread threads, in which case changing the subject might make it appear
to be a different heading, if it's at the top of the unread threads. I
appreciate your comments, though.
