It proves that mountain bikers have no sense whatsoever. They are
their own worst enemies.

It proves nothing of the sort. What it proves is, you are an idiot.

Explain the deaths or injuries of non-mountain bikers engaged in the same
activities. Some of them also are hikers.
Explain how you make the analogy of mountain bikers having "no sense
whatsoever" when it is not only "mountain bikers" that are injured in other
outdoor activities.
Explain how you only use mountain biker associated injuries or deaths and
exclude all others from similar circumstances.

Your OPINIONS cloud every statement and every post you make. That is why
your writings and presentations are not only a joke to off-road cycling, but
also a parady of everything scientific and environmental. We know it and
they (other REAL environmental advocates and researchers) know it. You are a
laughing stock.
Posts such as the one used to start this thread only brighten the
illumination on the fact of your scientific impotence.

At one time I would have agreed with you. But after watching ATV'ers,
Snowmobilers, Mountain Bikers, destroy themselves and the environment,
I simply don't give a hoot when some idiot gets killed. Homo Sapiens
is not an endangered species.

The mountain bikers wish I would shut up, so that, I guess, MORE
people will fooloshly kill themselves. Obviously, they don't care
about their own peers. They have done NOTHING to prevent deaths like
this. And they want to clainm that I'M the one who's callous?! Just
the opposite is true.....

Explain your logic in associating only mountain bikers to skiing accidents.
What of the accidents involving non-cyclists? Your post of nearly a year old
story concerning the death of someone skiing is callous and meaningless
beyond your own bias.
Where is the comparison of all injuries of skiers and their backgrounds?
Without that, you can make no link of mountain bikers involvement being any
more valid as a variable of cause.
By your logic, politicians do not care about their peers or killing
themselves since Sonny Bono died skiing.
Perhaps real numbers interest you:
"According to the National Ski Area Association (NSAA), 36 people died as a
result of ski related injuries last year, compared to an average of 89
lightning strike deaths."
This is from a '90s report but still relevant. Can you show that all 36
people were mountain bikers? What of the lightning strikes...? Were they
mountain bikers, too?
What is OBVIOUS is you are 100% an imbecile.

Do you get an erection when you post this kind of stuff, Mikey?

And what does your family think about your obsessions? Do they think

you're
a "brave environmental warrior"? Or, (as seems much more likely) have

they
recommended you seek treatment for mental illness?

GG

Hmmm. I wonder who is crazier -- those who practice extremely
destructive activities, or those who oppose them? Isn't it obvious?

Your failure to address these simple questions speaks volumes about your
mental state, Mikey. What a sad, sick, lonely life you lead.

BTW - when was the last time you had sex (solo masturbation excluded)?

Mountain bikers are NOTORIOUS for going where they aren't allowed,
which is why this guy died. If he had stuck to the LEGAL trails, he
would still be alive. Why do you want mountain bikers to die? You are

Everybody here, except you, makes sense. The irony is, yoiu are the one
point out how senseless things are.

You are the classic exercise in the pot calling the kettle black.

You attribute a skiing death to mountain bike riding when the facts are that
the death and the mountain bike habit are not related. Then, when it is
pointed out that other people die in the same manner, but they are not
mountain bike affectionados, you ignore them.

Your challenge is to explain how you make the leap from one activity to
another, and attribute loss of life in unrelated activities to the other
activity. I'm pretty sure you will not 1.) understand the challenge, and
2.) not reply in any meaningful manner.

A short life ended doing something you enjoy is infinitely better than a
long life ended having not for fear of injury. We do care about our peers,
we simply understand and respect their choice to find their thrills in a
way that may destroy them eventually, as they take that decision in full
understanding of the risks. Just because you cannot understand it does not
make it wrong, merely someone who gets their thrills another way -
apparently by posting up the deaths of other people. I know which Id be
more worried about if I were your shrink.
