Default Riding in the snow, another way

I've found recent threads on riding in the snow very inspirational.

Looked out my window this morning, we already had an inch of new snow;
our second storm of the season was underway.

Checked out my beater bike, a hybrid with fenders. All ready to go.

Then I got in my Subaru and drove to Bally's.

For a number of reasons, I've been off the bike for about two weeks,
longest stint since I started riding 5 years ago. Today I was
determined to get out, Sundays being what they are trafficwise. Of
course I'm late and it's already flurrying when I leave and is it
breezy, and it sure ain't just flurries. Major roads all the way until
the turn home which was at no speed and it was still slick. 11 miles,
nice ride.

I go back out to position the cars in the driveway, it makes the
shoveling easier. What do ya know... a bike tire imprint in the
accumulation, about an inch deepg.

all the best-c.porter.

Not very deep snow here in Winnipeg, but man is biking in the snow fun!
Personally, I like the challenge of an uncooperative surface when doing
trail biking. Plus the trails in the woods look spectacular at night in the
snow, with the moonlight and all.

Trail biking in the snow might not be bad. I'll have to try it
without the snow first. Don't have a mountain bike, and no immediate
plans to buy one.

Riding on the road is not so much fun in the snow. I'll do it
occasionally when the roads have been fairly well cleared, but riding
in a storm, with cars skidding all over, and visibility low, is not
for me. I'm sure some people do it, and good luck to them.
