SRAM Quick Link on Shimano HG-53 9 Speed Chain?

Does this combo work or do I need a special link (or should I just use replacement pins)? My goal is to be able to remove the chain for cleaning. Thanks for reading! works fine. I use the special link on shimano and SRAM chains. ---------------- Alex
