Snow Biking
Since Southern Indiana doesn't see much in the way of snow I have always
been somewhat envious of those who have had the opportunity to bike in the snow. Finally last Thursday I got my chance. Here are the stats: Snow - 22" Temp - 16 degrees Distance - only two miles Spills - only two Fun - IT WAS GREAT!!! Obviously in that much snow my mountain bike was the weapon of choice. I did pat the road bike on the way out the door so it didn't feel too left out. The only traffic I encountered was someone in a four wheel drive vehicle who stopped me to ask directions. The quiet and peacefulness while being surrounded by tons of snow was almost surreal. If you normally hang the bike up for the winter you might want to reconsider the next time you look out the window at mounds of snow. You won't regret it! |

Meanwhile, farther north in Chicago, we had only a few flurries covering the brown ground. (our day will come) |

If you want some pics of tomorrow's snowstorm let me know. I have to take and
send some pics of the snowstorm to friends in (rainy) Northern Australia. OTOH, if there is no storm (what do the weather people know about certainty in their predictions) the offer is void.
