Default Diesel on the road

At least they are only delaying themselves and not creating crash hazards
for cyclists.

"Commuters are facing frustration on their way to work with delays of up to
three hours.

An accident on the M25 has led to long tailbacks on the northbound carriage
with delays stretching all the way from Reigate to Orpington.

Two-hour delays are also being reported on the M23 London bound between
junction nine at Gatwick Airport and junction 7 at the Hooley Interchange
because of the problems on the M25.

The M25 at junction 8 is likely to stay closed for most of the morning to
clear up spilled diesel and carriageway repairs."

Non-motorway roads will be more congested though, perhaps with more-
impatient-than-usual drivers :-(

According to the radio reports, the whole road surface will have to be
replaced.
I suppose the diesel will be a highly effective solvent for the
bitumen so it will have to be skimmed and replaced.

It is still not cleared up even now.
The people stuck there will end up just having to turn round and go
home again.

Is it local to you?

Are there cyclists involved?

Simple Simon Mason - who cycles at 25mph in 20mph limits just because the limits do not apply to cyclists.
This includes exceeding the speed limit past three schools. A total disregard for the well-being of vulnerable road users.
The actions of a true psycholist.

Only 7/10? Or is that because he is actually just pretending to be Doug,
in gloating at others' misfortune. And as has been stated, the
non-motorway roads in the vicinity were far, far busier than normal,
which surely increases the risk of accidents all round. Own goal,
methinks (again, just like Doug).

I was not gloating - I was merely commenting that drivers who spill
diesel usually create a slip hazard for cyclists.
At least they are wallowing in their own mess for a change.

You don't think perhaps that (nearly all) the drivers that were badly
affected were not the same people as the driver(s) who spilt the diesel?

You wouldn't be making the same mistake as the cheerless prat by any
chance i.e. doing the one therefore all fallacy.

I do not celebrate motorists' deaths like Cheerless gets off on
cycling deaths, I just allow myself a chuckle when I see miles of
stationary traffic so that some drivers will see it is cars that cause
big delays and not cyclists in ASLs or taking the lane.
