Default "blocked race"

I saw the term "blocked race" used the the book Kings of the Road.

I googled and found the term used once in reference to the Tour of Luxembourg
(one stage was predicted to be a blocked race if there was a headwind).

But no definition.

What is a "blocked race"?

Dumbass,

A 'blocked race' happens when you overtighten your headset or older-style
bottom bracket and the bearing races no longer turn.

I thought Pros were supposed to be smarter than that.

Thanks,

Something like that always happened to my Shimano headsets. Indexed
steering. I've had the same Campy headset for 10 years and it's still
running as smooth as the day I bought it.

Ever heard of a Chris King headset? Better than S or C.
King's are seemingly bomb-proof.

Is this a new company?

Better than S or C.

Cheapo 105 works just fine... for years and years.

But the rest of my bike and my ass aren't.
