Yeah, I saw it. Well done but I think you must pretty brave riding all the way down the Pacific Hwy! I once rode back from the CBD to Turramurra. What I really hated was how on Pacific Hwy, it merges from 3 lanes to 2 whenever they needed to allow cars to turn right. I think they should just make cars do 3-points turns like bikes :-). Aah, that's why I turn off at Chatswood on the return trip. Coming down the highway isn't bad at all. I've done it in all conditions from 5:00am and 50 cars seen in an hour (well not many anyway) through to carpark. You need to know a few tricky spots to hold speed, but there's nothing particularly stupid. As you've suggested though, coming back is a nightmare. Merging uphill just doesn't happen, so I found an alternate route. I should put in the back way between Chatswood and Gordon, which isn't too unpleasant. Unless you snap a chain and derailleur halfway along the undulating bit. Do you know if they will open it again? No idea, but I never had a problem with the highway that I wouldn't get anywhere else. -- Dave Hughes | Flagrant system error! The system is down. I dunno what you did, moron, but you sure screwed everything up - Strongbad |
