Default Yet another cyclist struck by car.

"A 63-year-old cyclist was treated in hospital for head injuries
following a hit-and-run crash in Cheshire.

The man was riding along Barsbank Lane in Lymm, through the tunnel
under the Bridgewater Canal, at about 2240 GMT on Monday when the
incident happened.

Cheshire Police said he was struck by a car, similar to a Volkswagen
Golf which failed to stop.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been
discharged.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police."

I wonder who was and who was not displaying lights. Could have been crucial
to safety in that spot at that time of night in late December:

Were there two of those cars, both of whom failed to stop? Or do the
sub-editors at the BBC website just need some remedial English tutoring
(especially on punctuation and its purpose)?

Genuinely glad to hear it.

The sheer cheek of the BBC. Why is this one attributed to "Merseyside"?
Warrington (though geographically in Lancashire, of course and astride the
Mersey) has been officially part of Cheshire since April Fool's Day 1974. Let
Cheshire keep its drunken drivers.
