Default Bicycle Trail From Long Beach To San Pedro?

Are any cyclist familiar with the Long Beach/San Pedro area? It seems
the only way to cross the bay into San Pedro Beach (on land) is either
the Vincent Thomas Bridge from Long Beach or the 110 Harbor Freeway
from Wilmington, both options being closed to cyclist and
pedestrians. Is there a way to bike over the bay? I know from San
Pedro it is possible to bike to Palos Verdes, and at the northmost
edge of Palos Verdes The Strand bicycle lane begins, which runs all
the way to Santa Monica. I'd really like to bike the coast from Long
Beach to Santa Monica, but I keep running into the issue of finding a
pass into San Pedro. Thanks in advance.

Dunno, but I drove south through LA to the Long Beach pier via the
freeway during rush hour last Friday morning to enter the Catalina Marathon,
and it was the most harrowing experience of my life. Never Ever Never will
I ever do that again. And they are just as stupid and careless with their
silly go-carts on the island as they are with their hummers with the custom
aluminum rims on the mainland.

Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

No, but it's perfectly possible to go through the Port of Long Beach and
through Wilmington, like this: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1766369
