What do you say the traffic lights at that exact location are for,
other than to allow pedestrians to cross the road in safety? Are
cyclists allowed to ignore red traffic lights at that or any other
set of signals?

It's taken several posts to put the issue of pedestrian lights to bed.
Do not move the goalposts.

A simple "yes" or "No" would be ideal in response that that second
part.

It is not a simple yes or no. Using the roads always requires ca
being dead but right doesn't work.

It's obvious that you're trying to say that it is alright for cyclists
not to obey traffic law.

Why can you not just get real and accept that lawbreaking is wrong?

Yes, the criminal cyclist dismounted from his steed and was on his
feet when he committed the crime of assault. So what?

When the offender appears in court on a charge of assault will the court
treat him differently to any other common criminal?

I would hope not. That is exactly what he is - a violent criminal
(though Mason seems to worship such deviants and doesn't seem to meet
with much criticism here for his anti-hero worship).

Whatever cyclists do (in the course of actually riding a bike), they
produce no more casualties, in proportion, than drivers. There is no
moral reason why they should be better.

And people that do not walk but only look at the world from behind a
windscreen should shut up. That includes you. How many more times do you
need to be told before it sinks in?

Oh, by the way, I don't ride past red traffic lights. Have you found out
the meaning of libel?

Why can you not just get real and accept that lawbreaking is wrong?

Good. Then you must agree that most of the "cyclist did such and such"
reports are irrelevant to cycling and are off-topic.

.... or even when the pedestrian light is red and the carriageway light
is green.

Or one RLJ per year by a cyclist.

Ah I see the 'problem'. You are 'talking' generalities where I am
'talking' about the incident linked to.
