Critical Mass...which started out as a good idea. Has become a joke
in most cities.

Approximately how many motorists were converted from bicycle
agnosticism to fully hating bicyclists?

You really don't understand the world around you do you? In the worst
possible case, drivers are ****ed off at some jerky Critical Mass riders for
maybe a day. Then they buy their kid a bicycle.

So this justifies the law breaking and often petty crime and sometimes
violence that occurs at the CM self-righteousness fests? Oh--how blind
I am.

Maybe you can explain to me where I said that? The FACTS are that most of
the SF Critical Mass is simply a pain-in-the-ass but otherwise harmless.

And some nitwits are more than willing to execute anyone that even mentions
riding in Critical Mass.

I'm not really a fan of CM but a friend wanted to see what it was like
so I rode along in this one.

Didn't see any petty crime or violence and the law-breaking was
limited to blocking a few intersections for a few minutes. The ride
is pretty late on a Friday so other traffic is light and it didn't
seem any more disruptive than a variety of other events that happen
regularly in the city. There may be a few people who get annoyed but
it also makes bicycling more visible so I'd guess it's about a wash
overall or a slight benefit for cycling.

I've posted this before, and I'l probably post it again, but just to
reiterate the point that Critical Mass is fun, look:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayHQz7z-SUA

I'm not saying nobody hates it, but just because some folks are et up
inside does not make CM responsible. Nor is CM duty bound to comfort
or coddle hateful folks.

Do you have a problem with marching bands too, or processions of baby
ducks? Sometimes people, even people in cars, just gotta wait; big
deal. It's fun for those who are capable of having fun
extemporaneously.

Gee, maybe motorists should pick some major bike rides and try to
disrupt them by blocking lanes and disregarding traffic laws.
