I would not think of venturing into the wilderness without a firearm to protect myself from criminal idiot mountain bikers. Except you never venture away from your keyboard as proven by the numbers of posts you make every day. For those who actually do go beyond the backyard, the Ruger LCP is my choice for concealment against animals of the two-legged variety. YMMV
