What does being a lawyer have to do with my opinions about our President? I
think he is a waste of sperm. Period. I think he's damaged our nation.
History will prove him to be one of the worst presidents since Herbert
Hoover.

Yes, I have raced bikes. First BMX. Then MTB. And finally road bikes.
I've been racing bikes for a total of 20 of my 30 years on this earth. I
have also taught bicycle clinics for kids.

Any more questions?

Oh Steve, thou hath offended me. I embrace the word liberal.

" As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all
those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally
entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America
among the foremost nations of justice and liberality. "
George Washington

One more thing...why do you correlate politics with bike racing? Look, I'm
as passionate about Kerry and adamant that Bush is destroying America as the
right-wingers are for Bush and against Kerry.

My comment about Bush was a slight directed toward him based on his stance
against abortion...a way of explaining his reasons for being so opposed to
it...in a crude way.

Politics and satire go hand in hand, even crude satire. Don't judge me
exclusively on my political beliefs. I've got election fever right now and
am working on four hours of sleep a night because I am ingesting too much
politics.

Chill out on me, senor Papai. You've no reason to question me so
virulently. I use my true identity here, am open about who I am and what
I'm not, and enjoy this newsgroup as much as you or anybody else does.
You'll find me much less offensive after the election is over when we all
get back to talking about bike racing.

Some questions for you which you can answer via private email: (1) who are
you, (2) what do you do, (3) do you race, (4) what sort of races, e.g. which
class and style - road, crit or stage, etc...

Philip, I respect the process, your political opinion, and your right to
vote for whom you chose. I only have one question for the "liberals".
Leadership is defined by one who can stand by their convictions regardless
of swaying popular opinion. How in the world could Kerry be good for America
when his record is consistenly wavering. We are in a geo political situation
when leadership is crucial. I don't think Bush is perfect but I don't think
there's even a question whom is better. (Sorry for stating my opinion but I
view Kerry as nothing but dangerous for America...and by the way, I travel
all over the world, so I know something about how the rest of the world
feels).. Sorry, Ken, don't want to turn this into a political forum but it's
just too close to election time and I view this as an importnat one.

As opposed to never wavering, even in the face of obvious errors.
Hmmm, which is worse?

However the "errors" are again a matter of opinion. I believe in an
offensive strategy to fight terrorism and threats. Let me be clear, I'm not
saying that "I'm" absolutely correct; I recognize that the country may have
a different perspective than I and the vote could go the other way. I'm only
saying that leadership (IMHO) is the most crucial aspect of the election.

You are conflating leadership with intransigence. I find your mistake odd -- I have some
recollection that you are a lawyer, but perhaps I've separated the needle from the thread. In any
case, here's a refresher:

in·tran·si·gent also in·tran·si·geant (¹n-tr²n"s.-j.nt, -z.-) adj. Refusing to moderate a position,
especially an extreme position; uncompromising. [French intransigeant, from Spanish intransigente :
in-, not (from Latin; see IN-1) + transigente, present participle of transigir, to compromise (from
Latin tr³nsigere, to come to an agreement : tr³ns-, trans- + agere, to drive; see ag-
below).] --in·tran"si·gence or in·tran"si·gen·cy n. --in·tran"si·gent n. --in·tran"si·gent·ly adv.

lead·er·ship (l¶"d.r-sh¹p") n. 1. The position or office of a leader: ascended to the leadership
of the party. 2. Capacity or ability to lead: showed strong leadership during her first term in
office. 3. A group of leaders: met with the leadership of the nation's top unions. 4. Guidance;
direction: The business prospered under the leadership of the new president.

Notice that there is nothing in "leadership" which implies or insists on intransigence.
Historically, many of the most successful leaders have been the most adaptable. Some of them may
have been as immature as our head dick, but few of them were so hyper-masculine they responded to
failure of penetration by pumping more and more and more blood into it. Then again, his sanguinity
has never come from his own corpuscles, has it?

I make it plain for you thick-kneed 'publicans: when your enemy is small and subtle, the last
thing you want to be is large and stiff. An army of ants can kill an elephant, dumbass, even an
engorged one.

The silliest flapdoodle of this whole election has been that George Bush is a good leader.

Kirby.

Danny, I guess I don't really agree with that definition of
"leadership". It isn't so much the being "not being swayed by popular
opinion" that's an issue - it's more the standing by his convictions in the
face of overwhelming evidence that he has chosen the wrong course. GWB has
an incredible unwillingness to even acknowledge news that isn't in full
agreement with his preformed ideas and opinions. I didn't like Reagan, but
the man was a leader. GWB doesn't even come close to measuring up to that
standard.

I a lie or misstatement is turned into a sound bite and looped enough to
turn from a casual utterance into a systemic, automated thought or belief,
then people will believe the utterance to be true.

You just cannot help yourself.
It's like you have this bizarre fever.
You HIJACK RBR and think your **** don't stink and post
