Shimano Deore LX Front Derailleur Chain Rub - Help!
Hello All!
I have just got a new Scott MC20. The first time I rode it, I noticed that the outside of the chain rubs against the derailleur cage but only when the front middle cog is in use and in gears 5,6,7,8 and 9 on the back. It appears to be rubbing against the part of the cage where the cage pressing protrudes inwards (the protrusion I guess is for strength). I took the bike back and the mechanic said he'd cured it. Lo and behold on the very first ride the problem was still there! This is very frustrating as the rest of the gears run quietly and without interference. Can anyone advise how I adjust this out or is it trickier than it seems? I have a few (not very good!) pics that show where it rubs. This Shimanophobe would appreciate any practical advice you can give!! http://uk.geocities.com/quinkster2001/shimaono_rub.html Regards Carl |
