1/8th Chainring in 110 PCD?
I'd like to put a single 1/8th chainring onto the MTB which currently
has a PCD of 110mm. Not having much luck tracking one down - the 1/8th rings at ChickenCycles only seem to go down to 130mm. Are a new set of cranks required? Many thanks, Duncan |

1/8th Chainring in 110 PCD?
In ,
Duncan Smith tweaked the Babbage-Engine to tell us: I'd like to put a single 1/8th chainring onto the MTB which currently has a PCD of 110mm. Not having much luck tracking one down - the 1/8th rings at ChickenCycles only seem to go down to 130mm. I may be missing something here, but what's to stop you usinga 3/32 ring with a 1/8 chain? -- Dave Larrington http://www.legslarry.beerdrinkers.co.uk Nicht in die laufende Trommel greifen. |

Just use a decent-quality 3/32" ring - it will run fine and shouldn't wear much quicker. |

LBS had quite a selection in stock in all bolt sizes. |

Get a chainring made without shifting ramps and cut down teeth - taller teeth, chain stays on. There are BMX chainrings made for 110mm BCD. These may or may not be available in 1/8", but either way they'll work for single speed. Ben |
