Default UC Police Continue to Nab Criminals

There was an article in yesterday's San Jose Mercury News regarding the
successes of the police departments at some Bay Area UC campuses.

http://www.mercurynews.com/internal-affairs/ci_19023801

They mention that it was the UC Berkeley police actions that led to the
arrest and conviction of sex offender Philip Garrido.

UC Berkeley police have an impressive record in the apprehension of
criminals http://police.berkeley.edu/crimealerts/2010/.

The San Jose Mercury News failed to mention that in May of 2010 the UC
Berkeley police apprehended a criminal that had been attacking cyclists
on a fire trail. I saw the report on their web site,
http://police.berkeley.edu/crimealerts/2010/10-052810-37NC.htm. The
criminal was subsequently convicted on several charges.
