Yet another pavement motorist kills.
Even pavements provide no safety from these killer motorists. What can
vulnerable pedestrians and cyclists possibly do to avoid being killed as they go about their daily business? Can nothing be done to prevent this car-nage? Obviously existing punishments don't work and neither do driving tests help in weeding out even the most dangerous drivers. "A 30-year-old woman who died after being hit by a car in Perth has been named by police. Nicola Cross was walking along Jeanfield Road when she was struck by a car which had mounted the pavement. The Perth woman died in hospital after sustaining serious head and chest injuries. A red Toyota Corolla matching the description of the car involved was found elsewhere in Perth. An 81-year-old man is being questioned. The incident happened at about 10:15 on Wednesday, near Jeanfield Road's junction with Cornhill Road and Burghmuir Road. Tayside Police have appealed to witnesses to contact them." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...ntral-17477280 -- . A driving licence is sometimes a licence to kill. |

Isn't the answer to make it illegal for anyone over, say, 79 years old to go out of their homes? |

A driving licence is sometimes a licence to kill. but cyclists should not be riding on the pavement. Therefore if all car-weapon drivers became "pavement motorists", cyclists would never be in any danger at all. If they all rode their bikes on the road like they're supposed to, that is. |

Doug Can you explain what we should do. Seriously endulge your fantasy. What would you like seen done. Ban all motorvechicles. Then im sure you will be blaming arseholes on those racer bicycles for being dangerous. Maybe we should reintroduce horse and cart. Just like 19th century New York where between 100k - 200k horses gave off 24 pounds of manure and several quarts of urine a day. When a horse died, its carcass would be left to rot until it had disintegrated enough for someone to pick up the pieces. Maybe you should sew airbags in your clothing that contains pressurised helium and in the event of a collision with a car the helium ballon will lift you away from danger. |
