Default Schoolkids all wearing helmets

Seen yesterday out at Goathland a group of 30 schoolkids around eight years
of age all wearing red plastic helmets walking down the lane to the shops
where all of the Heartbeat tat is sold.
Puzzled as to why they were dressed like this, I followed them to the
Mallyan hotel when all became clear - they were going on a trip to Mallyan
Spout which is a rocky, slippery waterfall and there was a small potential
for them to bang their heads I suppose.

In contrast, there was a group of six teenagers on bikes with no helmets on
at all and of course this teenager SHOULD have been wearing one for his own
safety.
I do hope he pays back the NHS for his treatment which was so easily
preventable, plus all of those firemen too.

A resident stated that "the A1035 is a dangerous road", so maybe a helmet
would have helped in this case - I finally admit defeat.
