Wheelset
Hi Everyone
I'm looking for any feedback on Velocity Road hubs I can find! I'm looking at building a wheelset, At the moment I ride Ultegra Hubs with Velocity Razor rims 32 Spoke 3X back and 2X front, looking to stay around the 32 Spoke as I'm a heavy rider 105Kg Are velocity hubs as good as Ultegra? What hubs are as good as Ultegra or better? Can I drop to 28 spoke rear with out problems? Hoping for some help Thanks Chris |

I normally ride a crappy old road bike (40yo design? and it's very very sick at the moment and I need to get my hands on a 7-speed rear derailleur) so I don't know very much about freewheel hubs (I am assuming the Ultegra is a freewheel?). |

I have chosen my rims and hubs and they have built them up. Presently have Hope hubs and Mavic rims for my MTB. I have had no problems with the Mavic rims - if someone wants to bag them, it was my choice. I think if you buy a certain amount from them postage is free and you don't pay VAT. I bought a set of Marzocchi forks at half the best Australian price. Even Shimano gear is well under the Australian price. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ If the freight deal is not on, the VAT amount will cover the freight charges. Usually 4 day delivery. |

I guess they would all be sealed bearings nowadays. Wonder if those sealed bearings are needle bearings or ball bearings or something else completely? Got no clue myself other than having had a discussion once with a fellow about bearings in general. Anybody have links to x-sectional diagrams of cartridge bearings? |
