Did you notice that many republicans are now saying that they feel that
perjury's a loser charge they came up with just cause they couldn't pin
anything real on him? Now think back a few years to Monicagate...

Exactly... just because lies were tossed up by the Clinton
administration as well doesn't mean that there is any truth to them.
This thing is at a higher level than the Democrats vs Republicans
charade.

I wish we could really get rid of the cute "Weapons of Mass
Destruction" term, because all it does is obscure the issue. Sadam
specifically *had* chemical weapons... similar to what has existed
since WW1. This is nothing compared to the nuclear and biological
weapons that the US and many other countries possess. We'd had
inspectors in Iraq for many years to make sure that he ceased these
programs... but still the US successfully used the WMD story as an
excuse to invade and occupy the country. It probably would have never
flown without the hysteria they whipped up after 9/11, and the
persistent lies and propaganda... heck, most Americans believed that
Sadam was involved in the 9/11 attacks! This does not happen by
accident.

The real reason why they wanted to take over the country is... well...
read the neocon agenda... it's probably as good a guess as any.

Of course, Clinton pardoned Mark (?) Rich, who it turns out was getting Oil
For Food kickbacks from Saddam and whose wife (not a bad looker IIRC)
donated nearly half a million bucks to...you guessed it, the Clinton
Library, so he obviously had a REASON to be infatuated! (Damn, that library
must have solid gold fixtures when you throw in the Saudi money!)

Whatever...

IIRC, Clinton was accused of sexual harassment by Paula Jones. In the
course of defending that, he not only lied himself (repeatedly) but coerced
Monica to sign a false affidavit. He was the OBJECT of the investigation.

Libby, who hasn't been convicted of anything yet BTW, did NOT lie about the
alleged "underlying crime(s)" in the leak case (which in fact were never
proved -- probably because Flame was NOT a covert agent).

I know you're impatient, but let's see what happens.

But for some reason he did not unilaterally invade, causing the death of
2000 US soldiers, the maiming of 15000 US soldiers, and the deaths of
untold others. What Bill Clinton may have said is different from what
George W. Bush did, and the lies he used to get the country to go along
with what he wanted to do.

Uh dude... do you know who Marc Rich's lawyer was who negotiated that
pardon? And who maybe negotiated those kickbacks for him from Saddam?

No, it wasn't Donald Rumsfeld, but you're close: your confused because
Rumsfeld was instead the guy who negotiated the use of poison gas
against the Iranians with Saddam. Or perhaps because Rumsfeld was also
the guy on the board of directors of ABB, when they got the contract to
build the nuclear reactors in North Korea that were then used to make
Kim Jong Il's nuclear weapons arsenal:

That's right, you're close, but no cigar.

I'll give you a hint: Rich's lawyer at the time was indicted today on
five counts of obstruction of justice, making false statements to the
FBI, and perjury in front of a Grand Jury.

Still don't know? OK, I'll tell you: his name is I. LEWIS ("SCOOTER")
LIBBY.

"Whatever." Yeah, right.o

The indictment makes great reading. For one thing, it gives a partial
answer to the interesting question, "Who ratted out Scooter Libby?"
That answer seems to be, not just a few reporters, but in fact, almost
everybody: Rove, Fleischer, several CIA officials, and several
officials in Cheney's office- and finally, Cheney himself. It seems
likely that Cheney ratted out Libby, because he seems to be the only
other witness besides Libby to the fact that Cheney told Libby of
Valerie Wilson's identity; and furthermore, because if he hadn't, then
Cheney too ought to have been charged today.

Libby faces 30 years in a federal penitentiary. Libby was too cowardly
and too smart to serve his country in the military as a young man:
http://www.nhgazette.com/news/chickenhawks/chickenhawk_headquarters/
Is he willing to risk spending the rest of his natural life as a sexual
slave of some drug dealer in a federal penitentiary? Did he suddenly,
in his old age, become that brave and that stupid? Or will he decide to
save his sorry ass, and instead rat out those who ratted him out? Time
will tell.

See? He's a damned good lawyer and should have stayed in the private
sector, making millions, instead of serving his country in the goverment!
LOL
