Go to RBT at: https://groups.google.com/g/rec.bicycles.tech In the upper right of the page, you'll find an icon that looks like a square flag with an explanation mark inside. Click, and it will take you to "Report Google Groups Bug". To be uncharacteristically honest, the only time I use Google groups is when I'm out of other options for reading news. For a time, I even had anything posted from Google Groups added to my Forte Agent kill file, as Google Groups was the source of most of the spam and moronic traffic in the groups I read. Andre Jute "Neanderthals" may be too kind It's probably safe to blame the dead, unless genetic research succeeds in recreating a genuine living Neanderthal. I don't know what you mean by "platform". On my planet, that's a generic term of something that looks and acts like a computer. What I think you mean is that Sheldon created and maintained an excellent web site: https://www.sheldonbrown.com When Sheldon died, maintenance of the web site was passed to John Allen of Harris Cyclery: https://www.harriscyclery.net/catalog/harris-cyclery-catalog-39/ Also see: https://sheldonbrown.com/blog/ None of these have anything to do with the various Usenet newsgroups. -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |

I didn't know it was possible to pay for usenet access. "Best Usenet providers of 2020" https://www.techradar.com/best/best-usenet-providers Note that all of those listed charge for the service. I pay for my Usenet service through SuperNews, which is owned by Giganews: https://www.supernews.com/special/usenet-special/ I'm on a really old, no longer avaialable, text groups only, NNTP plan. Mostly, I'm paying for the spam filtering. My typical monthly download averages 3.5 MBytes. (Yes, that's megabytes, not gigabytes). Going back in time between 2008 and 2020, my highest month was 10.2 MBytes. I only download what I read. -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |

How do I get access to Usenet without paying any Usenet fees? What is your operating system? You will need to get a usenet client/program. You can websearch for a usenet client for your OS. FWIW, I'm currently using Pan on Devuan linux. I could just as easily user Thunderbird, which is a browser, mailer and usenet client, but it has been a while since I used it. For free, you need to websearch on free usenet services. Last time I there were a number, includig eternal-september, AIOEE and others, but not all of them are reliable. Note they are only free for basic text usenet, If you want binaries, then you usually need to pay. |
