Darn liberal left-wing Dimocrats! What about subsidies for gasoline
powered bicycles? What about subsidies for pizza powered bicycles?

And what about beer-powered non-electric bicycles? Mine run best on
high-octane IPA, Imperial Stout and Belgians.

IPA is also good for cleaning chains. Stout is also used for lubricating
chains.

I would never sacrifice beer for that. Just heard that my new cassette
sits stuck at a Fedex station in Michigan since last week and won't move
until the weekend. So far for Express. My current set is badly finished
but I need to goose it along for another 100mi or so now. All it'll get
for that last hooray is used motor oil, hope it won't start squealing.

No kidding: A guy from Kenya was interviewed as to why he used beer in
the brake system of his VW. He said it's cheaper, that he can't afford
standard brake fluid and that he uses Nigerian beer. "Why Nigerian beer
and not from your own country?" ... "Because it brakes better".

Are you sure he wasn't talking about breaking wind?

No, he was serious. I should have clipped and kept that article. Not that
I'd ever try that. I'll keep DOT-3 in my MTB brake lines.

There was a case of a bomber crew member dumping coffee, drinking
water and even peeing in the hydraulic tank of a bomber returning from
a mission over Korea to have sufficient "hydraulic" fluid to get the
landing gear down to land...

But I think that was a one time use only :-)
