Default Poit about to break a record

Peter Heal (Poit) has been pedalling his recumbent unassisted around
Australia for the past 45 days. He's now in Geelong and only days away
from finishing in Sydney. You can keep up with him on the yahoo group
or watch his progress updated every 15
minutes on Trackleaders.com. He says he has a dinner date in Sydney on
Saturday night so you can expect him to be at the Harbour Bridge before
that. He can't accept any form of assistance according to the rules but
you can wave as he rides up the Princes Hwy or be there to watch him
cross the finish line. An outstanding effort at over 300km per day.

Even if he doesn't get the record (but here's hoping), it's still very
impressive - apart from the recumbent part runs and hides from
outraged leather elbow patch wearers ;^)

Geelong's well in his rearview mirrors now - he's at Bairnsdale.

Be even more impressive on a wedgie. There are easier ways to have
the operation!

At 3pm Friday he's in Eden. 400km to go! Well and truly going to destroy
the record set by the German guy a couple of years back. World cup
revenge?

What's he going to do for an encore? Attach floats and do a trans
tasman?

226km to go at about 11am. That puts him at the Sydie Harbour Bridge
about 8pm or so at the speed he's pedalling. Get down there with your
streamers all you Sydneysiders, or just get out on the road and wave and
cheer as he goes past your place!

I was gonna ask yer about it but you beat me to it. Thanks for the ETA,
Peter.

Is there gonna be a guard of honour to accompany the man up the Princes
Hwy?

I think that is assistance. He's requested that people only wave as he
goes past, you could follow him I suppose.
